Ingush resident Zurab Albogachiyev, aged 26, who was abducted and later released by unknown people, has been tortured to confess his complicity in the armed underground, the Kavkazskiy Uzel quoted the Memorial human rights organization as saying on 29 July. Memorial said that the abductors questioned Albogachiyev, beating him and torturing him with an electric current to force him into confessing his complicity in illegal armed formations. Albogachiyev went missing on 20 July. His relatives said that unknown people in camouflage had beaten him before taking him to an unknown direction. On 27 July, it emerged that the abductors had released Albogachiyev in Chechnya, from where he reached his home. The Russian Investigations Committee reported earlier that they had not detained Albogachiyev, the website added. Source: Kavkaz-uzel.ru website, Moscow, in Russian 29 Jul 11
